The 1851 Trust, the official charity of INEOS TEAM UK, asked us to create a suite of learning resources for Teachers across the UK to use online to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) learning. With the British America’s Cup boat still in build stages there was no existing footage therefore we turned to CGI and illustrated animation to bring the boat to life. At Helical, we have a proud history filming the sport of sailing from the Volvo Ocean Race to America’s Cup therefore we relished the opportunity to break down the technical elements and performance qualities of an AC75 so they can be related to the curriculum and understood by a young audience. With the intended audience between 11-14 it was important to us that these films were short, concise, modern and cool.
